The provincial and federal governments have announced funding to bring high-speed internet service to five communities in Labrador.
Premier Andrew Furey, Minister Lisa Dempster, and MPs Yvonne Jones and Gudie Hutchings made the announcement Thursday.
The funding is for Bell Canada to bring high-speed internet access to 649 homes in Charlottetown, Lodge Bay, Mary’s Harbour, Port Hope-Simpson, and Red Bay.
The projects are part of a $136 million agreement between the province and the feds that was announced in February.
