We find out at 6:00 tomorrow morning if the Royal St. John’s Regatta will go ahead. The Captain of the Course and vice-president of the committee, Ashley Peach, will announce their decision in the Winners’ Circle outside the Boathouse.
VOCM will take that live.
The action gets going at the Come Home Year Regatta today with the Regatta Eve celebrations starting at 5 p.m. with the School of Rock House Band at the bandstand on the north bank of Quidi Vidi Lake.
Entertainment continues at that location until 7:30 p.m. when the party moves to the Quidi Vidi Brewery beer tent with Rube and Rake followed by the Old Contemporaries.
Metrobus will be providing shuttle service between Confederation Building and King’s Bridge Road from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. as some roads around the lake close at 5:00.
The big question is whether the races go ahead tomorrow. Meteorologist Tiffany Cheeks says Thursday will be the nicer of the two days. Wednesday will be cloudy with light shower activity and winds around 20 to 30 km/h. Thursday’s forecast calls for sunshine, high 24 and light winds.
If you're heading to the lake this evening, we are running a free shuttle between Confederation Building and Kings Bridge Road from 530p to 930p. Details at https://t.co/22myjuUO6k #nltraffic
