We now have more information on that fatal crash just outside St. John’s on the weekend. The person who died in the accident, which happened near Soldiers Pond, was a 21-year-old man.
Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal was an international student studying at College of the North Atlantic and was returning to Corner Brook from a sightseeing trip with four friends.
Conditions on the highway were wet at the time following a brief, yet heavy, downpour.
The car, which was travelling in the westbound lane, went out of control and rolled several times before coming to rest in the grassy median.
According to the RCMP, four others sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Police are seeking dashcam footage of the incident. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or who have dash cam footage of the incident, are asked to contact the RCMP.
A GoFundMe has been set up to send Dhaliwal’s remains back to his home of India.
