The province is increasing benefits for the Skills Development Program.
In an attempt to improve the program, government is increasing benefits for adult learners by adding a maximum $500 per week top-up for Employment Insurance recipients, as well as combining living and transportation allowances into a single payment of $500 per week for those who do not receive EI.
They will also end the historic requirement of spousal income assessment in an attempt to stop the reduction of non-training supports by 50 per cent if a spouse has income.
