Some of the athletes representing Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2022 Canada Summer Games are arriving home today.
It has been a very successful outing for Team NL at the games thus far. The team topped their provincial medal count in the first week of competition, and 16-year-old athlete Jaida Lee became the first ever female player to compete in men’s competition.
The week one athletes who competed at the games will be arriving home on two separate flights.
The first flight, carrying the Team NL Rugby 7s and male baseball players, will arrive at St. John’s International at 11:30 a.m.
A second charter flight will arrive at 2:45 p.m. with basketball, beach volleyball, cycling, road and mountain cycling, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, triathlon, and wrestling athletes on board.
