The Miawpukek First Nation has signed an agreement with TriNav Marine Design for the development of a new energy efficient boat.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two organizations for the design of a 49-foot zero emission fiberglass aquaculture support vessel.
It will use TriNav’s E-FINN design, which incorporates an energy efficient hull design and a zero emissions propulsion system.
The design itself was selected as the winner of the Hull Design Efficiency Challenge put off by ACOA and Impact Canada.
Miawpukek First Nation and TriNav have set a target of April 2025 for the build and delivery of the new vessel.
