The provincial Liberals and Tories are virtually neck and neck when it comes to voter intentions.
The latest Narrative Research poll, released this week, shows that overall satisfaction with the Liberal government led by Premier Andrew Furey has been dropping steadily over the last year. Overall satisfaction is at 47 per cent, down significantly from 63 per cent in August of 2021.
Meanwhile, the survey shows 42 per cent of those asked would vote PC if an election were held today compared to 40 per cent for the Liberals. Sixteen per cent would support the NDP, while 29 per cent are undecided.
The premier’s personal popularity is highest among those asked, with 31 per cent indicating they would most like to see him as premier. 28 per cent prefer David Brazil while 13 per cent prefer the leader of the NDP. 20 per cent did not know or refused to answer, while 8 percent said none of the above.
The results are part of Narrative Research’s Atlantic Quarterly, an independent, quarterly telephone survey, drawn from a sample of 400 adult residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. The survey was conducted between August 3rd and the 23rd with overall results accurate to within plus or minus 4.9 percentage points, 95 times out of 100.
