A group of Newfoundlanders are joining Canada’s National Para Hockey Team selection camp for the 2022-2023 season.
Liam Hickey of St. John’s, who won silver with the national team at the 2022 Paralympic Games, and Gavin Baggs of Paradise have both been invited to the camp.
A.J. Murley of St. John’s will be backing up the players and coaches, joining the support staff as an equipment manager, while Miriam Lewis of King’s Cove will join as a physiotherapist.
The team will be off to Czechia for the Para Hockey Cup later in September.
Off to Calgary for selection camp for the Mens National Team. Pumped to have this guy joining me for his first selection camp! Great to see more players from @NLSledge getting a chance to play with @HockeyCanada pic.twitter.com/hKDRF8Peu5
