The latest fuel price survey by the Public Utilities Board shouldn’t come as a big surprise—it shows the highest prices for gas can be found in Labrador.
Southern Labrador has to shell out close to $2.50 for a litre of gas, a far cry from what island residents pay. Prices range from a low of $1.66 in St. John’s to a high of the mid $1.70’s in island communities and remote areas of the south coast.
Gas is about 40 cents more expensive in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area than it is in Labrador West.
