The annual MUNN Insurance Tickle Swim for Mental Health is celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend with a return to the in-person format.
The event will see 17 swimmers leave Portugal Cove-St. Philips and swim to Wabana on Bell Island.
It was first conceived and swam by St. John’s Deputy Mayor and Tickle Swim Committee Co-Chair Sheilagh O’Leary in 2013 in support of mental health awareness.
She says at the core of the swim is the connectivity between mental and physical health, and over the last ten years its grown incredibly.
The swim is looking to raise $15,000 dollars for the CMHA-NL. It takes place Saturday, starting at 6:00 a.m.
