Five of eight workers injured in a flash fire at the Come By Chance refinery on September 2 remain in hospital.
Braya, which is converting the old refinery into a producer of renewable fuels, had hoped to resume work at the facility this coming Monday, but employee engagement sessions are continuing and a return to light duties isn’t expected until mid-to-late next week.
The company says its priority is the well-being of workers as they prepare for a safe return to work.
The Occupational Health and Safety Investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
