A long-time Gander businessman has passed away.
Jerry White was the owner of the McCurdy Group of companies which has operated in Gander for the last six decades.
The McCurdy Group includes McCurdy Ready Mix, McCurdy Construction and McCurdy Equipment Rentals, B&M Paving and True North Springs bottled water.
A native of Norris Arm, White started out in the business world in 1963 after purchasing an old pickup he used for hauling wood. He started McCurdy Construction & Rentals in Gander in 1969.
White passed away on Sunday at the age of 79. Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander.
