RCMP say they are investigating a recent post to social media related to the murder of a man on the west coast more than 20 years ago.
Police say 37-year-old Randy Cormier was reported missing on February 9, 2000. His body was located in the water off of Black Banks Beach near Barachois Brook in March of 2000.
An autopsy determined that Cormier had died of a gunshot wound.
The crime remains unsolved. The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit West says it is aware of a recent social media post alleging the involvement of a certain person in the murder. That information is under investigation.
RCMP are asking anyone with information related to the murder of Randy Cormier to contact its Major Crimes Unit West at 709-637-4420 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
