Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted man in the metro region.
Craig Lynch of Paradise is wanted on charges stemming from an incident early yesterday morning.
At 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on private property in the McNamara Drive area who was observed through CCTV.
An officer located Lynch and told him he was under arrest, when Lynch allegedly assaulted the officer and fled on an ATV. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Lynch is wanted for assaulting an officer with a weapon causing bodily harm, resisting a peace officer, failing to comply with a release order, dangerous operation of a conveyance, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident, as well as additional charges under the Highway Traffic and Off-Road Vehicles Acts.
Police are asking anyone who sees Lynch to not approach but to call them immediately. They are also asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the following areas at the times listed to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
The area of Topsail Road between Octagon Pond Elementary and Paradise Road, between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
The area of McNamara Drive to Kenmount Road, including the railway trail, between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
The area of Paradise Road to Camrose Drive, including Inwood Crescent, Venton Place, Virden Place and Clarke’s Hillview, between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
