Confederation Building will be bathed in green light this evening to mark the National Day of Remembrance for the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia.
On January 29, 2017, a gunman killed six men and injured five more after barging into the prayer room of the Islamic Cultural Centre in Quebec City shortly after evening prayers.
The Muslim community in Quebec City will gather in the very prayer room where the crime occurred today.
The provincial government says the colour green has long been associated with the Islamic faith and says those interested in showing their solidarity and remembrance for those who have experienced Islamophobia are being encouraged to wear green squares or green clothing.
