Fire at a silo at Country Ribbon last night caused significant damage to one of the structures on Topsail Road in Mount Pearl.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 9:00 last night and were still there this morning.
Corn inside one of the silos melted into the structure. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

It’s not known what kind of impact that will have on grain storage at the site.

Country Ribbon says it has been working with the fire department to help with additional access points to help flood the bin with water.
There were no injuries and the area was barricaded to ensure no one approaches the site.
