The Canadian Coast Guard’s icebreaker the Captain Molly Kool is in St. Anthony today conducting icebreaking operations.
Residents are asked to stay a safe distance away from the vessel as it moves through the area.
They say cracks in the ice caused by the boat’s track can extend for quite a distance, creating dangerous conditions for people out on the ice.
