A man accused of murder in the death of another man in Corner Brook last week made a brief appearance in provincial court this morning.
Forty-eight-year-old Blair Walsh is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 63-year-old man.
The victim was found suffering from serious injuries outside an apartment building on Wheeler’s Road on the night of March 28.
Police believe he died from injuries sustained during some kind of physical altercation with the accused.
Walsh was originally charged with aggravated assault, with the additional murder charge laid after the fact.
In court this morning, the Crown said it will issue a stay of proceedings on the lesser charge.
Walsh’s lawyer, Robbie Ash, also noted he has received disclosure from the Crown.
He’s been given two weeks to review it before pursuing bail and entering a plea to the murder charge.
In the meantime, Walsh was returned to jail pending his next court date on April 18.
