The Tories don’t like the amount of downtime in the legislature and would prefer to see more sitting days.
Opposition House Leader Barry Petten says given the number of pressing issues facing people, the Liberal Government should be held more accountable in public. He says government is rushing legislation and, as a result, making mistakes with that legislation.

Petten, the MHA for Conception Bay South, says he understands them not wishing to be in the line of fire over issues such as health care and cost of living, but that comes with the territory.
He’s finding that government is closing the house at every opportunity instead of facing up to the issues.
