It’s that time of year when people start to think about decluttering their homes, but what about their digital spaces?
Technology blogger and teacher Kevin Andrews explains that in this day and age doing a spring cleaning on our laptops, cell phones, external hard drives, and social media can be just as important.
He notes that doing digital decluttering can be overwhelming for some.
Andrews suggests developing a plan to help get started.
He says to start with the largest, most obvious files first and determine what should be deleted or backed up, and then move on to some of the more nuanced items.
Andrews says the same idea can also be applied to emails and bookmarks.
He says he is a big fan of using folders to help organize files. He stresses the importance of using this time to back up important files on a flash drive or external hard drive just in case something happens.
