The town of Holyrood is getting a new green public transit system. MP Ken Macdonald made the announcement in the town this morning.
He says two zero emission passenger shuttles will be purchased, as well as a charging station, and trip booking software.
Macdonald believes the town is one of, if not the first in the province to receive funding for such an initiative.
Deputy Mayor Michele Woodford says the announcement “opens the doors” for people in the community.
Woodford doesn’t have any firm timelines, but hopes the system will be up and running in a year.
