A public meeting is set for next week to address what the mayor of Marystown calls a concerning rise in criminal activity that’s plaguing the area of late.
Mayor Brian Keating is urging anyone who cares—from businesses, to the RCMP and residents—to attend the meeting this coming Monday at the town hall.
He says the town is “being held captive” by the vandalism, break-ins and home invasions that have left some residents traumatized, adding the community must work hand in hand with the police to put a stop to it.
The public meeting is set for 7:00 p.m.
