A PC MHA says his district is being forgotten as government works to fill family physician vacancies across the province.
The MHA for Ferryland, Loyola O’Driscoll, questioned Health Minister Tom Osborne in the House of Assembly on efforts to secure a salaried family doctor for the Trepassey area.

Osborne however, says that there are already two nurse practitioners in Trepassey, and the health authority says based on staffing and the needs of the area, they will not be putting a salaried position there, instead keeping with a fee-for-service model.
O’Driscoll says the nearest hospital is two hours away from Trepassey and family care could help prevent the lengthy trip.
