Firefighters in St. John’s had to make their way into the woods to battle a fire off Thorburn Road today.
The call came in shortly before 2 p.m., with crews initially responding to a garage on nearby Groves Road.

They were then re-directed to Thorburn Road, to an area across from Vatcher’s Used Auto Parts.
There, they found a storage trailer on fire several hundred yards down a dirt road.
It was extinguished, and prevented from spreading, with help from the Department of Foresty.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire or if there were any injuries.
