The RNC has set up a new e-mail address to accept information related to its ongoing investigation into alleged sexual assault and sexual interference against young people in the capital city area dating back decades.
Sixty-two-year-old Tony Humby and 80-year-old Bruce Escott have already been charged with a number of offences stemming from multiple complaints involving young people, primarily young boys, dating back to 2007.
Both men remain in custody pending their next court appearances on June 12.
But police say they now have information related to the case dating back as far as the 1990s.
RNC Const. James Cadigan says the new e-mail address — reach@rnc.gov.nl.ca — is part of a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach to the ongoing investigation.
“The safety and well-being of survivors is our priority,” says Cadigan. “So with this email, anyone with information, whether it’s survivors or witnesses to any of these events, can contact the investigators directly.
“So you don’t have to come to the building, or call in through our communications centre. You can instead communicate directly with this investigative team.”
