Police are investigating a bizarre mishap in the capital city this afternoon.

An SUV somehow crashed through the front of the Shoppers Drug Mart location on Lermachant Road.

It happened around 3:30 while the store was open but it remains unclear if anyone was injured.

First responders, including police, firefighters and paramedics treaded carefully around the scene that was littered with twisted steel and shattered glass.

The store has remained closed due to the damage, and as police continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
