The provincial government is moving forward with consultations on 10 proposed protected areas.
Most of the sites were previously identified in the Ecological Reserve Advisory Council’s 2021 priority assessment.
Environment and Climate Change Minister Bernard Davis made the announcement yesterday.

Davis says the engagement will be crucial to determining which areas are established, final boundaries, and how they will be managed.
Consultations with stakeholders will take place between now and 2026.
Sites include nine proposed protected areas described in the Home For Nature report. They are Ripple Pond; Halls Gullies; Cape Norman; Watts Point Extension; Facheaux Bay; Conne River North; Stony Lake; Rodney Pond; and Cape St. George and a tenth site, Indian Arm Brook.
