You can now park for longer in areas of downtown St. John’s.
St. John’s City Council has voted to extend paid parking limits on certain streets by an hour or two in the downtown core.
The changes come from feedback from local businesses who say the 2-hour time limit did not give customers enough time to visit multiple shops and restaurants.
Time limits on Water Street, Duckworth Street, George Street, Queen Street and the Coves will be increased to three hours from two.
Those parking on New Gower Street, Bates Hill, Cathedral Street, Church Hill and Cavendish Square will now have a 4-hour limit instead of two.
Councillor Ophelia Ravencroft says feedback for the change has been plentiful.
