An expert witness at the Carter Churchill human rights inquiry says the family’s passion for the case has inspired many in the international community.
Dr. Kristin Snoddon, who is deaf, was recently invited to do a presentation on the Churchill case at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
Speaking to VOCM News through an interpreter, Snoddon said she has an international role in the deaf community as a co-editor for Deafness and Education International, and as a coordinator for the World Federation for the Deaf. As such, she says she is privy to conversations happening in other countries and the Churchill case has had an impact.
She says that sentiment was evident in the crowd during her presentation.
She says people were inspired by the passion and advocacy of the Churchill family.
