The health critic is renewing his call for improved access to fertility treatment.
PC MHA Paul Dinn has long called on government to bring an IVF clinic to the province, but to no avail.
In 2016, the provincial government agreed to explore solutions to improve access, however this province is one of few without a fertility clinic.
Despite a subsidy in place for those seeking IVF treatment outside the province, Dinn says that doesn’t replace the need for a clinic in Newfoundland and Labrador.
He says the clock is ticking for many prospective parents who have been waiting years for government to provide the service at home. Dinn believes it should be a priority for the Liberals considering the province’s aging population and need for more young people.
