The fire chief in Whitbourne calls it a miracle that nobody was killed in a crash at the Tim Hortons yesterday in which a vehicle went right through the entrance, landing fully inside the restaurant.
Four people were injured—two adults who were trapped in the SUV, and a man and his young daughter. The 3-year-old was treated for shock but is otherwise unharmed.
Chief Jamie Budden says the damage was incredible.
He says the SUV swiped the man and narrowly missed his daughter. It’s just lucky that there wasn’t a full lineup at the time, on Father’s Day, because it’s usually very busy that time of day.
Chief Budden says they arrived to a scene of chaos. He says glass was hanging from the ceiling and the doors were still hanging in the air.
