A man has died at a fish farming operation on the south coast of the island.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. yesterday and involved operations at Nova Fish Farms near St. Albans.
Bay d’Espoir RCMP say an employee, who was working on a barge, was found in the water. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
A stop-work order was issued following the incident.
Nova Fish Farms is a subsidiary of Ocean Trout Canada.
The Chief Medical Examiner and Occupational Health and Safety were called in as the investigation continues.
