An over-zealous, over-ambitious and under-educated 34-year-old believes that he is the next reality TV superstar.
That’s the premise of a new comedy show written and filmed in Newfoundland.
JackTV follows two Newfoundlanders who want to take over the reality television world—except they have no clue what they are doing and things always go wrong.
It’s written by Stuart Simpson and Andrew Tremblett—who created “CodCast Podcast” and the sketch comedy and theatre group Halfhandsome—with Mary Walsh as director.
While the show ended up slightly different than the original plan, Tremblett says they are pretty happy with how it turned out.
He says sketch comedy is his and Stuart’s background. They wanted to make something hilarious and sharp, and kind of edgy. At the end of the day, Tremblett says, they were focused on telling a really cool narrative within the limitations of what they had with budget and time.
