Drug charges are pending against a pair involved in a car crash in Conne River.

Bay d’Espoir RCMP responded to a single-vehicle accident on Route 365 during the supper hour on Wednesday. A car went off the road and landed in a ditch.

The 22-year-old driver, who showed no signs of impairment, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 25-year-old passenger walked away unharmed.

Upon searching the vehicle, police found cocaine, cannabis, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and evidence indicating drug trafficking. The investigation is ongoing, with drug charges expected to be laid.
