The 4th annual Mike Buist Classic is taking place over 12 fields this coming weekend. A total of 51 teams competing in 11 divisions, including 13 female teams.
The tournament is named after former executive director of the St. John’s Minor “A” Baseball Association, Mike Buist.
Mike was awarded the 2019 Les Noseworthy Award by Baseball NL for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of baseball in NL. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.
During Friday’s games, all teams will line up on the foul lines to have a moment of silence before each game in honour of Mike and his commitment to the game.
