The St. John’s Farmers’ Market is celebrating 15 years this month and is going all out.
Their 15th birthday is the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd and to celebrate, there will be a bouncy castle, loot bags, pet adoptions, face-painting and a glass-blowing demonstration.
Pam Anstey, Executive Director, says there will also be musical acts.

The market began after Lori Greene (formerly of Happy Camper Crepes) and Emily Hunt (The Waffle Lady) were picnicking in Bannerman Park. Each just had a child and wondered about establishing an inclusive space where people could access great food and locally-sourced goods. They began the first-ever farmer’s market at the Lion’s Chalet.
They moved into their current home, the former Metrobus depot, five years ago.
