The Opposition is raising concern over staffing levels for the province’s water bomber fleet.
Forestry Critic Pleaman Forsey says staffing levels for the waterbomber fleet are reaching a critical point. He says on Tuesday, the province was reduced to one available waterbomber in Labrador as the fire index crept into the extreme range in many areas.
NAPE previously raised similar concerns about the availability of crews and equipment.
Forsey says the province can’t continue to “rely on luck as a forest fire strategy.”
