The Department of Education is warning of a new scam targeting those with student loans.
They say an email states that the recipient’s student loan has been forgiven and asks them to call a number to close their file.
The department says it is not a legitimate email and recipients should not interact with it. Any suspicious emails regarding student loans can be reported by calling 709-729-5849 or by emailing studentaidenquiry@gov.nl.ca.
