Premier Andrew Furey says he has reached out to Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston with a “blanket offer” of support in the wake of extreme flooding in that province.
Furey says he spoke with Houston early Saturday morning, and was told they would reach out once a full assessment of the damage could be done.
As of now, Furey states that no formal request has been made. He says Nova Scotia is still assessing the damage, but the offer he made is still on the table.
Meanwhile, the Premier says crews are working to repair road washouts on the west coast caused by heavy rains brought on by the same system that hit Nova Scotia over the weekend.
