The Avalon Peninsula and other parts of the island got a sample of winter overnight and this morning with a dusting of snow. Plows have been out in metro with about seven centimetres down at the airport.
Most of the white stuff will gradually melt throughout the day as it mixes with rain.
Tiffany Cheeks, a meteorologist at the Gander Weather Office, says skies will be clear in most areas by the time the trick-or treaters start knocking on doors.
It will be chilly, however, so people should bundle up.
