Metro police had to deploy a spike belt to finally stop a vehicle in Conception Bay South in a pursuit which had begun earlier in the area of Petty Harbour Road late Monday night.
The vehicle sped off and was later located in Manuels by the RNC. It sped off for a second time though, which resulted in officers using a spike belt. That did the trick but the pair inside the car weren’t yet prepared to call it a night. They ran off on foot but were tracked down by the police dog.
The 32-year-old man and his passenger, a 37-year-old woman, face numerous charges in direct relation to last night’s incident including breaches of court orders. In addition, the woman was charged with theft in two other RNC investigations.
They were held for court today.
