As war rages on in the Middle East, a MUN professor here wants to see more local politicians raise their voices in support of a ceasefire.
Dr. Majed Khraishi is of Palestinian descent, but has been living in this province for over 30 years.

He has helped organize numerous rallies since conflict broke out in October.
Khraishi believes the Unites States has the biggest amount of influence in terms of achieving a ceasefire, however that does not absolve local politicians of the responsibility to speak out.
“They have been very silent,” says Khraishi. Specifically, he mentions federal cabinet minister Seamus O’Regan. Khraishi says he could be speaking out for the people who have been writing him, but he hasn’t heard anything from him.
