The provincial government has publicly released its review of the Operating Grant Program for child care services.
The Department of Education says work has begun to address approved recommendations.
The report identified a number of areas in need of improvement, including having a true-market costs analysis done, an increase in infant care rates, and the elimination of a two-tiered rate structure.
It also identified the exploration of improvement to employee benefits to reflect years of service and the consideration of a substitute or replacement Early Childhood Educator program.
