The province is giving nearly $1 million to four local projects aimed at adult literacy.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Laubach Literacy Council is getting just under $250,000 for the Employability Skills for Entry-level Health Care Workers project, while the Murphy Centre is getting a full $250,000 for their TECHPREP program.
Econext have received the greatest amount, with $360,000 going to their Green Economy Adult Learner Career Exploration project. The council of Marine Professional Associates received $140,000 for the Elevate Empower Employ: Women Ocean Innovators program.
