A woman is once again before the courts on impaired driving charges following a hit and run in Clarenville Saturday night.
The RCMP say the incident occurred on Balbo Drive just after 9:00 p.m.
They say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle from behind, but the driver never stayed at the scene. The pedestrian was not seriously injured.
The suspect and their vehicle were located just before midnight on Random Island. Police say the woman who was driving failed the breathalyzer.
The vehicle was seized and impounded, and the woman was ticketed for driving with a suspended license due to previous impaired charges already before the courts.
She has been released to appear in a court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
