The Finance Minister is responding to comments made by the Association of Allied Health Professionals about the premier’s trip to Dubai.
This past weekend, Premier Andrew Furey travelled to participate in a health care recruitment event and to meet with officials with the Canadian University of Dubai to explore post-secondary opportunities.
The AAHP expressed frustration with Furey’s trip in the midst of contract negotiations with the association, promoting Newfoundland and Labrador to health care workers.
Finance Minister Siobhan Coady says they value AAHP members and all health care professionals. In regards to the premier’s trip, she says the province needs more health care professionals and it is important for them to recruit globally.
