The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling Rojo’s brand Black Bean 6 Layer dips sold in this province, as well as Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
The dips, which have best-before dates for February and March, are made with cheese believed to be the source of listeria contamination in the U.S.
President’s Choice and Taylor Farms Mexican-style Street Corn Salad kits are also being recalled due to similar concerns.
Listeriosis is a food-borne illness linked to foods like deli meats, soft cheese and refrigerated seafood.
It can be mild for healthy people but also very serious for those at higher risk such as pregnant women, those with weakened immune systems and seniors.
