The defence now has access to all the evidence against Markus Hicks, who stands accused of nearly 100 sexual violence charges.
The Crown told the court today that the last package was forwarded to defence lawyer Jason Edwards on Thursday.
Edwards previously noted it had been almost five months since Hicks was arrested, yet they were still waiting on evidence.
“I want to see everything I’m dealing with before I can properly instruct my client,” Edwards told the court two weeks ago.
Today’s development should pave the way for potential pleas to be entered to some or all of the charges when the case is called again on March 1st.
Thirty-three-year-old Hicks is facing 93 charges involving more than a dozen young men and teens dating back several years.
The charges include multiple counts of sexual assault, sexual assault with choking or strangulation, luring children, arranging to commit sex offences against children, and breach of trust, related to his position as a teacher.
It’s alleged Hicks used fake online profiles to lure victims to his home on Trail’s End Road, then disguised or concealed his identity to have sex with them.
He remains in custody at the correctional centre in Bishop’s Falls.
