Seventy paramedics, emergency medical services workers and dispatchers represented by NAPE are meeting in Gander to discuss the ongoing integration of road ambulance services across the province.
NAPE President Jerry Earle says a Request for Proposals has been issued for a group to manage the newly integrated system.
NAPE has long advocated for a single road ambulance system in the province and Earle calls this a pivotal time, which is why they called the roundtable in Gander.
“We’ve got one chance to do this right” says Earle, “and that’s what we want our front line workers to be part of.”
