A man and a woman were arrested after a wild late-night crime spree in metro.
It began with a stolen vehicle on the Northeast Avalon, then led to an east end hotel where the suspects were breaking into vehicles in the parking lot. The RNC located the stolen vehicle a short time later at a different hotel in St. John’s where the driver of the stolen vehicle struck a police car, then fled. Officers later caught up with that vehicle and arrested the couple.
The woman, who faces several charges, was released to appear later but the man, who is up on about 15 charges including assaulting a police officer, was held for court today.
Meanwhile, a man is in custody after an armed robbery at a convenience store in St. John’s around midnight last night.
He has been charged with robbery with a firearm as well as unauthorized possession of the gun. He spent the night at the lockup for court today.
